A private skippered
Sydney Yacht Charter with Sydney Private Sailing enables you to see Sydney by Sail in comfort and style.
Enjoy the exclusive use of our brand new sailing yacht for a full
or half day sailing on Sydney Harbour. Sydney sailing charters depart from Clontarf Marina
near Manly at a time
to suit you but usually
at around 10am.
You can choose where we sail to or leave it to the
skipper. Half day and full day Sydney yacht charters sail to The Opera House and
Sydney Harbour Bridge. The following describes a typical full day
Sydney Yacht Charter but how much we sail and how much we motor is up to you
and is tailored to suit the wind conditions and the age/fitness levels of
guests i.e. with seniors we usually sail downwind but motor upwind:-
Motor gently past Clontarf Beach,
and Balmoral Beach with a cup of coffee or glass of wine in hand. Tour past the
waterfront mansions of Watsons Bay (where the famous Doyles Seafood Restaurant
is located), Parsley Bay and Vaucluse Bay, then sail down Sydney Harbour past
Shark Beach and Nielsen Park. Follow the shore into Rose Bay past Catalina Restaurant where
the seaplanes depart from, then sail close in past the waterfront mansions at
Point Piper and Double Bay. Turn left past the navy ships and explore Woolloomooloo Bay with its luxury yachts and
waterfront restaurants. Sail past Lady Macquarie's Chair in the Botanic Gardens
and get your cameras ready for the scenic sail past Fort Denison, the Opera House and
under the Sydney Harbor Bridge.
We
make a team decision on where we sail to for lunch. Once moored or
anchored, the champagne corks are popped and food laid out. After a
lazy lunch on the yacht, and a swim (optional) a leisurely sail back to Clontarf
takes us past Admiralty House,
the official residence of the Governor General and Kirribilli House, the
official residence of the Australian Prime Minister.
The
yacht, "Topcat III" is a brand new Catalina 32 (finished July
2006). She is ideal for luxury yacht charter being fully equipped with fridge, bimini
(for shade), swimladder, glasses, bottle opener, plates, platters and cutlery,
tv
and CD player.
Topcat is in full survey with NSW
Maritime for commercial operation. This
means the yacht is inspected whilst under construction and then annually with
both in water and out of water surveys by Waterways naval architects and
engineers.
See Catalina 32 for
yacht specifications.
Skippered
yacht charters on the Catalina 32 cost the same midweek and weekends. The
price for yacht hire with skipper, see Charter Rates is fixed regardless of whether you come on your own or
organise a group of up to seven people.
No sailing experience
is necessary but you are welcome to do as much or as little of the sailing as you like.
Take the wheel or just
sit back and relax. Sailing is one of the most fun things to do on a
holiday in Sydney. To ensure you have a relaxing day, children under
14yrs are not permitted.
BYO food and
drink or see Catering. Tea and coffee are complimentary.
Sailing Sydney Harbour on Sydney Private Sailing's own 32ft yacht, Topcat,
is very economical for small private groups of
up to 7 people but if you don't want to hire the whole boat and would rather
just pay for yourself, why not try midweek Social Sailing.
For larger groups of more than 7 people, see Larger Yachts
